Dear District 7 Neighbors,

I am not a politician. I have no aspirations for higher public office. I have no personal agenda in running for or serving as County Commissioner. In fact, this was not even a consideration of mine until I became aware of the misguided tactics, uninformed decisions and inexperienced actions of the Ottawa Impact majority since taking office and control of our county’s government in January 2023.

However, I am a life-long and traditional Republican, and I am greatly bothered that Republican elected officials, under the banner of Ottawa Impact, have acted so irresponsibly as County Commissioners for Ottawa County. Regardless of your political party affiliation, if any, we need to take a stand against such short-sighted and irresponsible actions of these Ottawa Impact Commissioners. Together we must seek to restore our county’s previously stellar reputation as a valued place to live, work and do business. We must stop the blatant waste of taxpayer money due to Ottawa Impact’s extreme ideological views and inexperience.

I am prepared to take a stand against their abuse of power, deception, and disrespect towards citizens of our community, including against non-Ottawa Impact commissioners who do not adhere to Ottawa Impact’s agenda. I will also do my best to reunite our community under the banner of trust and respect where all belong.

In Ottawa County, our shared commitment to altruism, generosity and service are central to who we are. As a “traditional” Republican, I believe in preserving the tenets of fiscal-conservatism and compassion, while ensuring our leadership remains accountable to and driven by a genuine commitment to, and for, our fellow citizens.

As an experienced, solutions-minded leader, I am motivated by the power of collaboration and respect to overcome any adversity. My intention in this campaign is to lead with sound legal experience, an open heart and listening ears to build bridges, promote greater understanding, make prudent decisions, and recommit our leadership to serve the needs of all community members – one where everyone’s voice is heard and respected.

As I look to the future of this county, I do so with an unwavering commitment to learn from the past, embrace the present and a pledge to ensure the future of Ottawa County always reflects who we are: hard-working, community-driven, inclusive and compassionate.
